UN team in Tanzania outline achievements




UN Resident Coordinator, Mr Alvaro Rodriguez. The United Nations in Tanzania has achieve 97 per cent of its outcomes and targets in its first business plan, the UN Resident Coordinator, Mr Alvaro Rodriguez, has revealed.
Addressing editors in a breakfast meeting in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, Mr Rodriguez noted that the United Nations Development Assistance Plan (UNDAP I) has proved to be a coherent plan for the whole of UN in the country.
As a result of the success of UNDAP I, the UN in the country embarked on UNDAP II, which will run for five years starting last year.
A total of 87 per cent of the UNDAP I budget was successful mobilised and delivered, according to Mr Rodriguez, who noted that in the second phase, four semantic areas have been identified.
He listed them as democratic governance, human rights and gender; resilience; health nation as well as inclusive growth.
