The factory was also found to be collecting already used sachets in the market and reusing them without following the right procedures.

That was discovered by a team of National Task Force entrusted to outlaw use of sachets to pack local distilled liquor, when they visited the company's premises located in Plot No 79 at Kiwalani area.

On arrival at the compound, they found its gate locked, but peeping through some holes, they managed to photograph some heaps of dumped sachet containers as well as boxes containing some of them. They said some of the sachet containers were marked to have expired in February, this year.

That was after an informer had told the officers that the factory was only apparently operating at night with many unclear movements of its products also taking place in the dark.

Contacted for a comment, the team leader, Mr Kasela Kasubi, said on several occasions, they had contacted the company owners over the issue, but nothing was coming out of it. He hinted that they only had one option of locking its gate with their special locks for the owners to turn up and sort out the allegations with them.
